Q: Is DHA recommended for pregnant women?

A: Yes. In fact, the March of Dimes® recommends that pregnant women consume at least 200 mg of DHA every day.9 Since many women do not consume the amount of DHA recommended by many experts through diet alone, a prescription prenatal vitamin may be what mom and baby need to help ensure mom’s daily DHA intake is at least 200 mg during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.9,10
